Fusion of acoustics and sound

Engineering Harmonics designed a complete renovation of the performance sound and communications systems in this iconic venue, after confirming that uncontrolled reflections from specific surfaces in the hall and acoustic interference between loudspeakers in the original sound system were causing audible anomalies.

A retractable electro acoustic performance sound system is deployable on demand at Roy Thomson Hall for popular music concerts, master classes, and other performances that supplement the schedule of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, the hall’s primary tenants.

The new system has raised the bar for amplified concert sound, providing greater coverage, power and fidelity, and has been well received by both touring sound engineers and audience members alike.

We retained Engineering Harmonics because we respect them and we respect the quality of their work—both the results they had obtained on their previous projects and the process they employed in achieving those results.
